hi all

i have a P4 2.53Ghz, is it woth to jump to a 3.06Ghz or not.
i just use the computer for games, editing( pic, and video)

or would it be better if i get raid of my 2.53 to buy any of the Athlon XP??

imo, it is not worth it to get a 3.06GHz chip upgrade from the 2.53GHz one

i'll be selling my ship and buy teh 3.06 for teh same price as i'm selling my 2.53.

If it dont cost you nothing then yes it would be worth it,you'll have hyperthreading too.

Where are you selling it? Just know that you may not get what you want for it.

(Oh, and the phrase is worth it, not worthed. )

And, switching to AMD could be an option. AMD processors tend to be cheaper than their P4 counterparts, in terms of processing done per time.

I agree, if its basically a free trade, do it. If it involves shipping, long driving, or any other bother though,
I probably wouldn't do it. Unless I was extremely bored. The new system will probably be worth more though, if the same opportunity comes when the new Intels come out.

Why go to AMD? Its not going to be any faster on average. And this is not meant to start a flame war.

Or you could try dabbling in the overclocking arena, and try pushing your P4 to 3.06GHz. I think that 1.7v is the highest recommended voltage for the things, as they can take internal damage (not from heat either, just from too much power) above that, and die very early deaths.
