I know I know. If you wanted my opinion you would have asked for it. Um, Do you have an AGP or PCI-e 6800nu? If its an AGP version, then your card has 4 disabled pipes. If you enable them, you could possibly have a 16 pipe card instead of your 12 piper.

If you have a PCI-e, it only has 12 total.

From what i've seen with the 6800 series is that it doesn't help much at all. It mostly makes them quite a bit warmer and not help much more than 5-10 mhz which equats to about not even 1 fpz faster.

One thing I wished somebody told me a long time ago is, be sure to use compatible drivers with Rivatuner when running an unlocked 6800. Whenever you update the drivers and it gives you that warning message, it's a good idea to just keep whatever driver you've got that's accepted by Rivatuner, or it'll cause problems.

ya hynix i was able to run it fine at medium with a 9800pro u would think high on a 6800 would be possible.. although i know cs source is more cpu bound but i have a mobile running at 2300mhz which is fatster than a xp3200 so i thought it would be fine..Also using a gig(have another gig i just bought currently in bros comp didnt see much diff with my rig so i gave to him for now :D) of ddr400... inappropriate4AT what kinda of problems are u talkin about.. also that driver thing is old and isnt updated much... so i mean how far back would i have to go im using 80.40s right now and everything runs nice accept cs source on the 2 heavier maps.... more over what exactly do u know of thats affected by rivatuner when using "unrecognized" drivers... hehe i mean what are u talking about the pipes shader????? cause other than the unlock its just like any other card. oh and its an agp card evga..

How about you don't RMA a product you f*ck up yourself?

im sorry i wasnt aware you work for evga... i would have been more careful not to offend you....i also wasnt aware i was obligated to listen to you on how i do MY bidddddddnesss

actually keysplayr2003 i ran extensive benchies with valve stress test first stock... then unlocked no oc then unlocked oced.. each time it got better although not by much.. also the stock test was done after restoring the unlocked pipes and shader to default step by step.. then uninstalling it all together so i dont think there were any conflicts... oh and i also did test s with the card with no unlock just oced.. honestly the frames dont get much better.. i went from 102 stock to 109 after everything... 102 to 106 just oced no unlock... i aslo did testing after about 30 mins of de_dust2 with 32 players.. then i ran all tests again... basically test one setting with stress test then play for 30 mins and do the test again then i reboot and run the oc tests etc etc repeating same process also i allowed the card to cool 2 mins after reboot before each retest... so im not sure the would be the prob... now that i think i did once get 117 fps in the stress that.. im pretty sure it was with a whql or whatever approved driver it was the official nvidia driver before 77.72 the latest one.. which was probably riva tuner approved to... i dont know man... what do u think

What is "bidddddddnesss"? No it's people like you who end up screwing it over for the rest of us who legitimately use RMA's. Be happy with what you paid for as you're not gonna get very much more out of pumping more volts through the core of your card.

And is there something wrong with 102-106 FPS? o_O

OK. You can use RivaTuner to unlock the 4 disabled pipes (one quad). If the pipes are good (not defective). You can download it from guru3d.com and follow directions there.

It offers a nice little performance boost. Might make the difference between non-playable and playable.

actually if you read closely you will see im happy with it.. its just cs source that isnt performing well on a few maps those stress tests scores are good but i still drop under 30 in heavy situations or on larger maps like assault.. you dont know me............ i have never used an rma in my life so its not people like me who f*ck ur shi* up.. if u read even closer you can find a thread where i say for future games i might consider this.... and if u cant get business from bidness. my initial assesment of you and ur attitude is right.. an angry overly anal person who thinks a little to highly of himself...Im a nice guy i dont like problems.. especially in a forum.. if u have nothing constructive to say dont say it....unless you can say it to my face.. also the rma thing i didnt state i was planning on f*cking over the company i simply said they arent picky... i know a guy from this forum who said he returned a card to them with a missing backplate... and they didnt care they just sent him a new one... Ya keys dled riva tuner aleady unlocked and going good.. just cs isnt what i thought it would be with this card...

Look. A missing back plate is one thing because it's a problem that was caused by the manufacturer. It's a whole other thing when one intentionally screws up his/her card and returns it in the same manner as such, and expecting a perfectly new card in return.

In your last few threads that you made complaining about performance problems, I linked you to the XG 77.62 Type 3's. Try them as they're wonderful with performance. And I wouldn't start worrying about the card, really. If it plays the games you want to play without difficulty, then I don't think there's a problem with it. The more you look for problems, the more they're going to haunt you.

(And please try typing your posts with periods at the end of sentences. It's really hard trying to follow a post with just "..."'s between thoughts, as not everyone takes a "thought pause," if you will, where you do.)

Actually the missing backplate was caused by the user replacing the stock cooling with a aftermarket, (btw the tech new this as buddy told him what he did) then when putting the original one back on,, he left the back plate off. The tech told him it didnt matter and they would send him a brand new 7800gtx to replace his 6800 or 6800gt dont remember what one. I only mentioned the aquamark score as a problem, and got back good feedback and now know cpu makes a huge diff. All games play well accept 2 or 3 maps on source. Im happy with the card is those respects, only thing is i play source engine games Hl2 and cs source and soon DOD more than others. Doom 3 guildwars WoW and Bf2 are collecting dust at the moment.. which are games in which my card would shine. I knew source games like ATI, I just thought going from the exact same settings only differnece being medium to high in textures and detail level would be easily achievelable. It does obviously do better than the 9800 pro although not by much. I tried the xtreme 77.62 type 3 drivers, I saw better 3dmark 03 and 05 results with those although I got 7-10 more frames more with the 80.40s in source.
