Is it worth it to pay an extra $100 dollars for a faster processor?

Is it worth it to pay an extra $100 dollars to get a P4 1.7 M over a P4 1.6 M ? I'm looking into getting a laptop and would like to know how much a difference it would make and/or if it is worth the cost. I realize that it's better to invest money in RAM and a faster hard drive, but just for the processor itself.

Thanks for any feedback :)

It depends. What else can you get for that $100 besides a cpu upgrade? How long do you plan on keeping this laptop?
I would opt out for more ram or a better video chip before paying that much for just 100Mhz. Now if it was 300mhz, then it would be a different story but always pair your cpu up with your video and ram first and then outfit the rest.
