All I can say is the MX700 is hands down the best mouse I've ever used. Nothings even come close.

Agreed. I would go further to say it is the best HID upgrade I have made to my desktop, maybe tied with my Dell 1900FP.

I'm sorry that I will say something that I cannot back up (I could, but I'm too lazy to find the link), but I have head of a problem with the mouse wheel in games. Supposedly Logitech was working on this, but I haven't heard anything since.

Personally, though I know that Bill Gates is the spawn of Satan, I have to say that my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0a is the best mouse I've ever used. I haven't used a Logitech mouse in years, admittedly, because until recently they were too small (like those P.O.S. Mac mice). In fact, your dual optical mouse is one of the ones I don't like.

I've seen reviews before, and I think that the MX700 and the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 are about the same as far as the optical sensor goes. The dual optical mouse is only slightly behind them. However, its problem is only with come surfaces, so if you have a mouse pad that is known for good compatibility with optical mice, then you shouldn't notice any difference in performance from that mouse to either of the other two. I wouldn't worry much about the optics; just go to a store and try them all out. Whichever one feels best is the one you buy. Just keep in mind, you can find the Intellimouse for about half the price of the MX700.

The MX700 did have a problem with the mousewheel in games but it's been fixed with the newest version of mouseware available from logitech.

I have had 0 problems with this mouse in games except that the side buttons (forwards and backwards in browsers) dont want to work unless you install mouseware (bad idea). Its not that big of a deal though. This mouse is one of the best I have ever used, and its really isnt that heavy. A charge lasts for a LONG time and it only takes 1-2 hours to completely recharge. Its simply the best mouse EVAR!

Buliwyf go
here & read the Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical vs. Logitech MX500 Review ,It`s a superior mouse for sure, so for a heavy gamer I would say yes it`s worth it,but then it`s your money ;).

Btw Buliwyf anyone that joined same time as me and is still a Junior member deserves to be Elite in my books ;).

One more thing the MX500 might be a better option for you (it`s the corded version) being you won`t have to worry about the batteries getting low and either changing or recharging them like with the MX700

:)

LoL about the join date.

MX700 can be had for around $43 AR before X-mas if you buy it from Amazon. I believe price is ~$48-$5 (coupon @ plumpbillfold). It was ~$38 for a while, just crazy heheh.

I'm a hardcore gamer as well and I've never run out the batteries in one sitting. Been busy with work lately though, but I'll be able to test it for sure during the upcoming holidays. :)

I would say it is worth it since it fits at least my hand much better than any other Logitech mouse.
