Is it worth it going from 19" wide to 22" wide?

Are the 22" widescreen monitors worth it? I think its a waste going from a 19" wide to a 20.1" wide. I also plan on hooking a 360 up to it one day when I get one because I likely won't be able to afford a HDTV for some time to come. How would the 360 look on a 22"?

What is the best(budget) 22" widescreen?

I just went from a 19" regular aspect monitor to a 22" widescreen (the Samsung 225bw mentioned above). I'm very happy I did so; I think this monitor is worth the $260 I spent on it (& I should be able to get at least $125 for the old 19"). It's only .5" less vertical height & a lot more horizontal length!

1680x1050 vs. 1440x900.

Hell yes.

LG 204 & Samsung 225 are amongst best cheap 20/22" WS LCD displays IMHO.

I dual monitor 22" and 19" and I thought my 19" (faster refresh) was going to be more of my main gaming screen but that changed. My x1950pro (though oc'd) can't push 1680x1050 with high details in most games very well though (Gothic 3, Vanguard, Oblivion). So if you want to game at native resolution and like detail like I do then you might also consider what your graphics card is.

yeah thats the only thing I'm afraid of. One would have to almost have the latest card to run the newer games at 1680x1050.

The monitor is discussed in the big 22" panel thread that was in the video sub-forum if you search for it. Also maybe in the big sticky. I think the consesus was it had black light issue.. wasn't as quality as some of the other 22" (Acers, ect.) but it offered the extra ports.
