Also, the true PVP server sounds bad ass... open world PVP, with lootable player corpses, sounds like fucking old school UO brought back, which was the best time in an MMO I ever had.

As an Eve refugee I'm definitely interested in the free-for-all gankfest on the PvP server. Anyone got a blob organized yet? (or can you not properly blob in Conan?)

Out of curiosity, I went back and reupped it, and installed patched it last night. I think mine was downloading at a steady 500 m/sec...I'm used to at least twice that though :\

Mine was as less than 100kb/s restarted it then left it over night and it finished. I can't complain, I am having fun right now.

I made a Demonologist on the PvE server, I got him to level 7 I think. I am doing the Ascension quests and it says [Single Player]. Is that like guild wars where each zone was instanced but instead, just the primary quests are?
I might try playing on a PvP server if I stick with it. I usually don't do PvP in MMO's.. Hmm we'll see.

The US servers are now available again.

However, there was an issue that would have allowed a player to generate more than one character on the new server. As having the "only one char" restriction in place is important for the Blood and Glory server ruleset, we decided to not put the new servers online today. We will have an update on the possible release date for you all next week.

This is odd to me. I mean, I understand the point of limiting to 1 character per account per server. But as a free to play game now, anyone can create a second account... for free. So what exactly are they limiting here? Unless that is "the issue" they are referring to... maybe some sort of IP address limitation, although I could see that annoying roommates who won't be able to both play on the server, or families with multiple kids (18+ "kids", w/e) who play, or whatnot.

Sorry, been busy, first time to read this.

The general world of conan is not instanced. Much of the dungeons are, like most mmo's are now adays though. There are solo instances, and there are group instances.

I also haven't had much time to play aoc either. I am having trouble remembering how to play the game though. I might put off playing for a bit longer, and then try again when I have some time to devote to it
