I have still never played a game on the Wii that I enjoyed enough I'd even bother to plug the damn system in if it was given to me for free. Honestly, I'm being real. I hate all the Wii games I've ever seen, so for me it's not worth it ;)

I know many adults do like theirs. I find the games very light-hearted kind of kiddy stuff. My favorite type of game involves people dying and the more gorey and ridiculous the way they die the better. It is the only way I cope. For that reason I have an xbox 360 and may one day get a PS3 if I want a blu ray player in the basement.

purbeast is right, but all you can expect of people is to relay their preferences. For mine the Wii is crap and not worth taking for free but others do like them so it depends on your preference for games.

I have tried Wiifit. It's crap. Total garbage. However, EA has one I see on tv and maybe it's not.

Well obviously you have to like Nintendo's style. Expecting anything else from a Nintendo system is kind of crazy. I for one love Mario, Zelda and their other franchises so I like the Wii for the most part.

mod it and it makes the unit a lot more fun. we ruined spiderman because my 2 yr old got ahold of the disk and scratched it to hell. Bought a 320 gb external usb drive, soft modded my 4.2u wii, and loaded all our games on the hard drive to play. Works much much better, and we can watch dvds on it also if we want.

we got a wii for xmas this past december. the girls (3 and 6) still play it a few times a week. of course, it's only been 1 month so we'll see how well it stands the test of time. they really like the toy story game and i have to admit i like to join them usually. we went on the toy story ride at disney and they loved it so they wanted the game for xmas. they liked dora and the crystal kingdom but they finished it in a week and now it just sits there. the 6 year old likes to load up wii sports for some tennis and bowling action and the 3 year old will usually join in as well. i got myself ea sports active because i just didn't have the time to go to the gym and we don't have a home gym set up yet. it's an ok workout. on the hard setting i always break a sweat but i definitely used to get a better workout at the gym. but it's still much better than doing nothing. the resistance band is really a joke if you've done any lifting in the past, but as i said it's still better than nothing. i workout 4-5 times a week with it and will probably get ea sports active more workouts in a few months.

however, after the kids are asleep i will usually do 1 of 2 things: if i have a lot of time, i'll put AC2 into the ps3. if i only have a little time, i'll put MW2 into the 360. my point being that, without kids, i would probably not get a wii.

threads like this are so stupid.

you are asking complete strangers if something is worth it to you.

I fail to see your point, I am asking people who have experience with playing on a Wii be it older folks like me (married with kids), people with no kids, and young adults (teenagers) if they like the Wii.

Personally I don't think I could find it that entertaining to play the Wii but...that being said my wife had gotten the bug to get one for the kids which is what prompted me to post.

There are a ton of games and just the little info in this thread helped me if we do decide to get one.

I suppose you have never asked anyone's opinion on a matter that you were trying to make a decision on...I guess you have to be the smartest person on this forum.

Thank you to all who took the time to reply I appreciate your input!
