Is it worth extra $50 for AMD64 3200+ over 3000+?

if you are overclocking, no, because they usually max out at the same speed. My opinion, it aint worth it, spend it on more ram to notice a bigger boost.
 
depends on what youre doing. if not overclocking, 3000+ is fine, but if you are then the extra multiplier will help.

3200 is the best bang/buck step up though, as opposed to 3200 to 3500.

im in the same boat, don't know how to OC, but what if I learn how to later on............I'll regret not opting for the 3200.

dude, one gig of ram is the best unless you use CAD. i also advise you to just get corsair VS for 75 shipped (hurry at newegg), because amd processers do care that much aout ram like intels do.

as for the video card, i ordered same one, except for 138AR😀 anyways, i did reasearch and its a great card for the price.

because i've been reading and the 3200 oc's better.

 
It wouldn't make to much of a difference, and you prabably won't be maxing-out ur multi on your first oc. I'd get a 3000+ (venice) and u can upgrade to a 3700+(SD) or a dual-core if u have the cash later on.

you won't regret it, youll get a decent overclock anyways. unless getting + 2.6 on a 1.8ghz processer dosent satisfy you enough.
 
good video card, go for corsair value just to be safe, and 1Gb will be plenty. As for the Oc'ing, if youre not looking to get the most out of the CPU, both the 3000 and 3200 will OC easily to 2400 on stock cooling.

I forgot to mention im also looking at a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D mobo. Anyone have one of these? Ive read good things about it.

monarch, like a week ago. as to eh mobo, i think almost everyone on this fourm has one of those or is planning to get one. It is a real good mobo, even at was impressed by it and they have extensive expierience.

For those with a DFI lanparty, anyone using a old atx psu? I have a Antec 430w Truepower I bought a year ago, and I would like to still use it. I read the dont always need a new atx2.0 psu on the new boards.

wow, it was just 75 like 10 min ago. anyway. 77 is still hot. i got mine for 79. dosen't matter, its still great ram.

you know, out of all the new mobos, the dfi is really the only one that reccomends dual rail. that antec could work, but if i were you, i would invest in a fortron blue storm 500. best bang/buck for $78. but thats just me because i like to be on the safe side.

That sucks. I was really hoping I could use my old psu. Thats another $80 i have to shell out... 🙁
 
yeah, i know i hate when that happens too. :frown:

if you look at dfi street, youll see many people having stability probs because they didn't get a 24in/dual rail psu.
