is it usual for fedex to deliver a day early?

For me, if something is shipped from the West coast by Express saver, I usually get it a day early (really good for newegg/chiefvalue orders). For the east coast, I sometimes get it 1 day early. UPS never delivers early to me. They will let my package wait in the facility until the delivery date. =(

Yes.

I usually receive the "Super Saver" (3 day) in only 2 days.

But we have a small distribution area here, so that probably has something to do with it.

sometimes even when all they have to do is deliver it (it's right there in the warehouse since the night before), but it's not time yet (the delivery time is the next day). they won't even bring it out.

I used to get super saver from amazon earlier than the posted date. Last few times though my stuff has come literally weeks after I've ordered. And my items have always been in stock too 🙁

Almost always, especially from Amazon. I've had things that FedEx thought would take five days to deliver be delievered next day.

I have NEVER had Fedex deliver a day early... even if it was in the warehouse for 2 days, they'll wait till said delivery day.

This has been discussed before and it seems to vary by location.
Most of my FedEx deliveries have arrived a day early.
