Is it true they can't air Tom & Jerry on TV anymore?

Because of the cartoon violence.

If this is true, this is one sad day in America. The pussification of America continues. I grew up watching and I didn't kill anyone.

I flipped through Cartoon Network the other day, and saw it being aired. Maybe they're screening only certain episodes?

tom and jerry are my favorite cartoons i watch them on cartoon network all the time..the old school ones not the new ones or that art nouveau period they went through

i find it funny they now voice over the black maid episodes with a professional sounding womans voice..to be oh so PC.....tis a shame...i hear this is the reason many bugs bunny cartoon are no longer aired..to be PC

Tom and jerry is one of the pointless show ever. The cat keep thinking he could eat the mouse but keep get bested. Persistent to the max. And it doesn't even make sense

I figured that's why I hadn't seen Speedy in awhile...loved that cartoon as well.

As for Tom and Jerry, that's one of my all-time favorite cartoons. Up there with Wiley Coyote and the Roadrunner. Those were awesome cartoons back in the day.

It will be a sad day in America if they ever stop airing those cartoons.

No, from his head.

are you sure?

"Much of the dialogue between Mexican characters is in English and the small amount of Spanish that peppers the dialogue consists of basic greetings, goodbyes, exclamations, and misplaced references to popular Mexican foods. This criticism prompted Cartoon Network largely to shelve Speedy's films when it gained exclusive rights to broadcast them in 1999. However, fan campaigns to put Speedy back on the air, as well as lobbying by The League of United Latin American Citizens, who argued that Speedy's cleverness and personality was a positive depiction of Mexicans, turned the tide in his favor, and in 2002, "the fastest mouse in all Mexico" was put back into rotation."

There are a lot of episodes they won't play.

All of the ones with the black maid are right out...

Not likely. Even if it had to do with violence, I'd think The Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote were worse.

I figured it would have been that black maid.

I saw that episode recently. I took notice of it for that reason alone.

Go watch the original Disney movie Dumbo. I think that movie came out in the 1940s...man, talk about a non-PC movie.

It's not the violence, although there are people moaning about that. It is the overt racism that has episodes banned.
