Is it true that President Bush reads 60 books a year?

That would make it roughly 1 book a week. I heard this while watching The Last Word with Wolf Blitzer last week. Donald Trump said Bush people said it and he was listing a litany of lies from Washington D.C.. I know last time Bush was on This Week with George Stephanpopodou...polalilulelopolous, Bush said he was reading the bias/racist "History of the English speaking People" novel.

I don't think the President has the intellectual capacity to turn the page without losing focus, but I could be wrong. Anyone else heard of this?

I heard the favorites he's read recently are Green Eggs and Ham and Horton Hatches the Egg.😉

I just did a google search for the book and it seems like it's a favorite among neo-conservatoves.

Would it be too much to say these people are living in a bubble? Group-think anyone?

The level with which you guy sink to in order to insult Bush is pathetic.

Ummm incase you forgot he is a Yale grad AND has an MBA from Harvard.

His daddy had something to do with that. IIRC, he got straight Cs at Yale and was rejected by U. of Texas at Austin Law School, but accepted to Harvard? Somethings wrong with that picture.

IMHO, with his years of cocaine abuse, he may have lesions in his brain and the operating capacity of a man-gnat, which would explain a lot.

EDIT: I apologize if you feel that I am insulting President Bush, your Lord and Savior.

Man... if he has the time to read a book a week maybe he should be focusing on something else... Like (insert list here) for example.

i agree with you Whoozyerdaddy....

not that reading is wrong, reading is great! I think its good that our presidents find time to read...but if he has time to read a single book a WEEK, unless the man is naturally a speed reader I would hope he spends less time reading and putting his attention towards the key issues that we are facing right NOW...
maybe if this was the Clinton era where not much went on it might pass...but he himself declared his "war on terrar" so I would think focus and refinement is needed there...

rumors abound...link to prove it plz

It doesn't just matter that you read, but also WHAT you read.

(not to mention being capable of drawing your own conclusion with the information you are absorbing.)

I've read the bible, quoran, and several books on various forms of buddhism, it doesn't mean I came out an xtian, muslim, or buddhist. In fact I came out less religious than I was before I decided to undertake the chore.

IIRC Last year Bush was talking about his summer reading list, which had about 20 books on it. It got a decent amount of press for a day or two.

I've known a few people in my life that could easily read a whole book in a week, so it doesn't really seem that far out to me.

I posted a link about this a month or two back, his reading list was an obvious lie. I remember that if he had actually read all the books he had claimed to read... it would be a threat to national security because he would be spending so much time reading.

Anyways, does it matter? If he reads 0 or 100 books a year... he's still one of the worst presidents in history. There should be no reason to find new ways to show his crappiness... there are already so many available.

If he really read 60 books a year, his vocabulary and sentence structure would be far better than they are. There is no way he could read that much and speak as poorly as he does. I would think he could handle the language better even if he read 60 comic books a year.

ProfJohn,

If you haven't realized it yet too many of the posters here have BDS (look it up on wikipedia) to have any intelligent discussion involving Bush or members of his Adminstration. Its really depressing to think people can get so wrapped up over one person that they become dysfunctional.

I just look at it this way, when replying to those on my BDS list I fully expect nothing intelligent in return. Hell, I almost get disappointed with them if they don't throw back nazi, neo-con (which is almost diametrically opposed to nazi), or such. They are as predicatable as the fact a pile of poo stinks.

Face it BDS freaks, many people can read that many books in a year, most don't take that long to do. For really good readers a novel can be downed in less than a week easily and even then only a few hours a day. What better way to end your day than reading a book?

While I agree that many people are afflicted with BDS, in this case the criticism seems valid.

Blind devotion and blind criticism are two sides of the same coin.
