Is it true that only some people can read those...

Is it true only some people can read words typed with numbers? Example below, I can read it, and these stupid things always pop up on Facebook saying only certain people can read it. Is that for real? Surely not?

I bet most people can. Took me exact;y 3 seconds to read the whole thing.

Took 1 second to get the initial format, than breezed through the rest in 2 seconds.

Wasn't too hard. Didn't really have to think about it but took half a second for my mind to register it...Kinda tipsy/drunk though.

Mroe istreninteg is the one wrhee you olny need the smae lterets and frsit and lsat lretets to be the smae to raed the wrdos.

Dear God, don't fall for that stupid Facebook crap. Making you feel special encourages you to pass it on. RESIST!

I can read it, and English isn't even my first language.

You don't read every letter when reading a long text, just enough of them to figure out what the word is. That's how spelling errors can go unnoticed.

I never use that language but is easy to decipher. I could read the text immediately as soon as i observed the whole as a picture instead of a string of characters. Massively parallel pattern recognition FTW !

I can read it but not at the same speed I can scan normal words.

This is just pattern substitution. It can be learned.

It's basically l33t speak. Non geeks may have more trouble with it than we do.

But one tihng taht evreynoe can raed is wehn letetrs are reevresd raondmly wihtin each wrod.
