How's that? An automatic trans relies on friction materials to work, that means wear. Assuming proper maintenance on both types, the manual will prolly last longer, assuming the driver doesn't destroy the syncros 😉
As far as the engine, IMO the engine with the auto trans will prolly last longer. Not only is there no thrust wear on the bearings, the engine will likely see a narrower range of RPM,
not experience missed shifts, less drivetrain slack, etc.
Where did you get these 'facts'?
