How's that? An automatic trans relies on friction materials to work, that means wear. Assuming proper maintenance on both types, the manual will prolly last longer, assuming the driver doesn't destroy the syncros
As far as the engine, IMO the engine with the auto trans will prolly last longer. Not only is there no thrust wear on the bearings, the engine will likely see a narrower range of RPM,
not experience missed shifts, less drivetrain slack, etc.
Where did you get these 'facts'?
