is it too much to ask for someone to actually make a call instead of text?

Most annoying thing ever is trying to get to know someone and the first thing you find out (and possibly the only thing) is they are a text junkie.

Thats grounds for an early end of the first and only date. I'd send her a message from the parking lot saying "how you gonna pay for dinner?"

Co-signed, nothing more annoying than hanging out with people and every 20 seconds their phone beeps, buzzes, etc. and it's another text. If guests are over, that phone should be put on dead silence.

The only thing that really bothers me is when certain people not only insist on texting all the time, but also refuse to answer the phone when you call! I text pretty frequently; it works well for the reasons someone posted earlier (respond at your leisure, no background noise, written record), but sometimes I need to plan something a bit more complex and I don't want to use text messages.

To be honest, certain times I prefer text and others a call makes more sense. I always take unlimited text though otherwise my bill would be ridiculous. I don't really need minutes other than early evenings and weekends, which keeps the bill stable.

I haven't really had any problem with people insisting on texting, or whatever...
