I'm ready to pick up one of these babies. Will they ever reach this low, or will the price be dropped, the 939's discontinued, and we will be shafted?

::pessimistic::

I was under the impression that it would be a 50% price cut, that would translate into a sub-150$ x2 3800+

Unfortunately not. :( http://images.dailytech.com/nimage/1779_large_full_pricing.png Still nice prices though

169 for a 3800X2.....count me in! Now I just have to flash my BIOS on my mobo since I bought it pre-dual core days and never saw the need to flash it....

EDIT: Just checked the BIOS date it supports dual core....good :p now just have to wait for the price drop!

according to that chart the x2 3800+ is currently 303$ but it can usually be had for 297$ so hopefully it will drop closer to the 160$ range

I wouldn't be surprised to see it slightly under $170 though

Well, I think they said up to 50% on some processors. Meaning some will see 25% and some might see 40% and certain chip/s will see 50% price drop. Not all chips are going to drop 50%. And of course thats always subject to change. Supply and demand will affect prices and it also depends on the retailers to pass the costs along to the customer. Another month to go.
