It's only cool if you have a good computer.

486dx2 @66Mhz turbo, 8MB ram, 512MB HDD, sound blaster 16 + 2x cdrom, Trident 1MB video card @ 640*480, 56k high speed modem.

I guess. I don't do it because it's no longer something I feel is worth bragging about. So what if I have the best money can buy? I only build PCs for myself based on what I want them to do. I have a pretty decent one now because I need it to play the games I like, not because I care what anyone else thinks about it.

It was never cool. Mostly people who need to compensate have them. Most likely small penis.

Signatures are mostly annoying.

It's a hardware forum and I'm an enthusiast, so yeah it's cool. I like to see what people are running. I've also added camera, audio and phone info. It's not for bragging.

Heck yeah! This is a tech site. If it isn't cool to you, you don't belong here! 🙂kidding: for some of you)

Seriously, if nothing else, it's useful.

It was never cool to post your "rig", it was a necessity so people could figure out what the fuck you had in your box whenever you had something to discuss tech related.

Definitely cool.

Was it ever really cool? I just do it because I post enough in the tech subforums it's easier to refer someone to your sig than to list out a rig in a post.

That's why I did it. I quit when I stopped hanging around the hardware forums. I don't find hardware especially interesting anymore.

I don't care as long as it's kept to a single line (thanks mostly to the sig rule changes). It can be interesting to see, for example, what people have overclocked their parts to.

With hardware so easy to put together and reliable I hardly ever spend time in the HW forums, since help is relatively rarely needed.

But man did I have fun recently moving the guts of my desktop to replace my aging P4 HTPC, and building a new system for the desk. It was my first time using cases with real cable management and SSD's. We've come a long way in just a few years.

This. Came here years ago to get computer advice on my build... Then got suckered into the Hell that is ATOT.

I don't think I've ver listed my pc in my sig. I did use to have my CS clan tag once upon a time 😛
