Is it safe to stack cds?

Directly touching eachother? No plastic case inbetween. Like how blank ones are stacked in the spindles, but is this a no-no after they've been written to?

Stacking cds directly on top of each other causes cancer in lab rats. Do it at your own risk, er if you're a lab rat I guess.

umm they dont get scratched unless u are rubbing them together, should be fine
at work we have stacks (~60 in each stack) of cds that we listen to searching for cds to listen to, rubbing them together, get scratched pretty good.

A friend of mine died of cancer because of this and his family was rewarded billions of dollars by the CD corporations to keep shut about it .. .. . .. . . . . .

Another friend of mine stacked 5 on top of another and they exploded and now he is blind in one eye.

WARNING DO NOT STACK CDS!

Be carefull. I hear the cancer that lab rats have is contagious

on a more serious note, it's possible to scratch them if they are being moved/shifted ... but they will probably be ok. Jewel cases are the best places to store cds IMO, however, storage can be a problem when you have a lot, even with racks that hold 300 or 400 each .... there is only a finite amount of space.
