I am going to be doing a brake job on my Ford Explorer as it's been 6 years at the very least since I had new brakes on my vehicle and it's looking pretty rusted out.
So I bought some 6 ton jack stands which give me a much better feeling than 3 ton ones even though 3 ton ones will do the job.
I'm thinking put the wheel chocks on the front tires to make sure it doesn't move at all. Then jack up the rear first.. then the front. (I can lift both the wheels of the front side with 1 jack point but the rear requires me to jack it up twice).. so this way 2 of the rear jack stands stay perfectly balanced and don't have a chance to tip over.
What do you all think? And is it safe to put a suv on 4 jack stands??
