Why do cops shine their lights right in everyone's eyes? The first time was ok, he apologized and moved the light. Then the light made its way RIGHT BACK INTO MY EYES! WTF?

Shining the light on the chest or chin would let him see just fine without BLINDING me. :|

I always thought that they shined them in your eyes so you couldn't see them...

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's a lot harder to do anything when you're temporarily blinded.

He would have been shot by the time he got to me if that were my intention.

He may have also been looking at your eyes for signs of drug/alcohol use.

Guess it was wrong to cover them up then. Asking would have gone a long way.

Heh, my eyes are almost always red anyhow. :p

With the amount of time I've spent on mid shifts, my friends have to check me for that too. But flashlights are the right way...

its an indirect satisfaction trigger-happy cops get instead of blasting someone with a gat.

Checking if your eyes look like your on drugs? Maybe they think it will intimidate you so you don't lie to them? To stun you? Shrug... just some ideas.
