or the other way around?

i've never taken any economics course... so im wondering which is better to take first.

You can apply some of the concepts of microeconomics to macroeconomics; in my experience, macro does not lend itself to a deeper understanding of micro.

(I should edit this to say that) Most colleges do micro before macro. Once you get into graduate level courses, they branch off further into their respective theories and idiosynchrasies, and the order becomes less relevent.

Always do micro before macro. Once you get into graduate level courses, however. they branch off further into their respective theories and idiosynchrasies, and the order becomes less relevent.

i don't even know if i should micro

i have no more drops for classes so once classes start, i have to stay with it. It's not required for my major but it will help fulfill one of the requirements
it's also class over the internet/tv... dunno if that's a good thing or not. 😕

should i take it even if i don't HAVE to?

the college where i took it...it's principles of eco 1 and 2...and it starts off w/ macro first.

thought it was weird...but wasn't my place to question.

They really are completely separate ideas. My college had macro first. But since you don't have to intermix them, it wouldn't matter if you took micro first. Note: some colleges decide to intermix them and thus then order will be important. Why don't you ask the professor if he/she does that?

In my opinion both were fun and easy As.

How very interesting. What college did you go to?

At my school macro was taken before micro. Its important to know the general environment before you learn how businesses operate in that environment.

I was talking to a friend at Illinois and he said about the first half of macro is stuff from micro. So I'm real glad I took micro before I'm going to take macro. 🙂

at my school...psu...there is no required order, they are completely separate, although ive heard its easire if you take micro first, im taking macro first

when you get to higher levels the math in micro is harder, macro is all identities
