It seems to be like the author of this thread got it backwards, right???

Lets hope you got it backwards!!!😉

re: flashing Asus P4S333 with Asus P4S533 bios v1006

originally posted by THUGSROOK on 4/4/02 from here

i just flashed my P4S333 bios with bios v1006 from the new P4S533.

all went well. (dos flash)
it says warning during flash, but just ignore it.
it now says my motherboard is a P4S533!
the only possible problem i can see it that it offers UDMA 6 for HDs.
for now i played it safe and set them to UDMA 5. ill test the 6 setting later.

this new bios has a 4:6 (2:3) memory ratio above 132fsb!
it also has a 3:6 (1:2) ratio below 133fsb too!
400DDR baby!

gluck and have fun all you P4S333 owners out there!

UPDATES:
* PCProbe v2.1601 or better is now fully functional.
* P4S533 bios v1006c is actually bios v1005c.
* Power supply fan and case fan RPM readings are reversed in bios and in PC Probe.
* CPU and Motherboard temps are reversed in bios and in PC Probe.
to fix pcprobe temps - open the asuspb.ini file and remove the last 2 lines.
* WARNING the UDMA 6 setting is unstable. (possible data loss)
* The P4S533 beta bios v1007.002 is working for most ppl, but not all. shows a nice improvement if it works.
* 4:6 memory ratio doesnt seem to be stable for everyone. some ppl need additional mem voltage.
* some users report they have the 4:6 ratio from 100fsb upto 160fsb - lucky bastids
* WARNING the P4S533 1008 beta bios might kill your P4S333 bios (e.g. the trick doesn't work anymore)

latest bios is 1009 for P4S533

does this trick still work, since bios 1006 is old already?
