What exactly did they do for the inspection? You might check and make sure the antenna cable didn't get unplugged.

That's weird. It's possible for FM side of the radio to quit working and the AM be fine, but I don't know how something pepboys did would cause it. I guess they could have shorted something, but you would think it would've toasted the whole radio. I guess it's possible though.

"d'oh" !!!!!!

now the question might fall on ..
if i get a new one, probly one with CD/FM/AM "from best buys, because they install for you also"
will the FM work? or the problem might be elsewhere in the car?

LOL

its only FM
BUT i really don't like to drive as much anymore because the radio don't work..
very boring!!!

If the problem's in the radio, then yes the FM will work just fine with a new radio. You might want to double-check the antenna connection all the way from the radio to the antenna itself though before you spend the $ on a new radio. Could be the cable is broken somewhere along the way but still looks okay from the outside.

By not working you mean NOTHING, no sound at all with the volume turned way up? No static?

Hey! My radio is in the exact same condition. AM come in great, FM doesn't work at all.

I think the Attenae is just disconnected. I dunno how to get re-connected.

Your antenna is disconnected.
F.M. requires a mat antenna, A.M. has it's own antenna built into the reciever.
Pull out your reciever and check the antenne connection, also check the ground at the anttenna on your fender.

Of course, (given that I recently received a Good Guys sale catalog in the mail and am therefore drooling) this would be an excellent excuse to go out an purchase an in-dash mp3 player... :) (After which, why would you give a flying fvck about FM?)
