to make a computer which uses no fans, all passive heatsinks?
i know it would be hot as hell, but it may be an interesting experiment 🙂
 
Yes, with really huge finned and large mass FORGED heatsinks on the cpu's, it could be possible. You would need good case airflow, though.

neat experiment, yes. Would I try it on a socket A chip, no way.

interesting concept, but keep in mind tht all the heatsinks in the world won't do a thing to dissipate heat if there is no medium to draw heat away from the sinks... once the heatsinks are saturated, you'll need airflow to remove heat from the sinks, or water if you want better cooling...
 
Yes, the Dell concept SUCKS, it uses large heatsinks without fans but they use a airduct with a fan at the end to suck it out, the heatsink is always hot like hell...
