I have a new computer I just built, and I originally put in a DVD/CD-RW I borrowed from my girlfriend's Dell. However the machine would not work right. So I tested everything else, decided it was the drive, and replaced it with a typical cd burner. It worked fine. I just put the DVD drive back in as a slave, and it hasn't given me any problems yet. Is it possible for a drive to work only in slave mode?
