Is it possible?? Use a 1GB USB flash drive

I've made an unattended install disk of my XP with SP2 integrated.
Anyone with any knowledge of installing the OS on a USB 2.0 flash drive ???

I did some reading about that, and evidently, there is some sort of issue installing any NT-based OSes onto a USB flash device, something about them resetting the USB bus during bootup, which hoses access or something. OTOH, it should be possible to install a Win9x variant, since they can default to using the BIOS interrupts for disk access, and the BIOS will redirect those to the USB device.

That's not clear enough?

I want the USB device to be bootable with the installation OS (XP) on it.
Is that better?

I am interested in installing a slimmed down XP OS to an USB 2 type device. I'm lloking to build a computer for a boat and want to reduce / remove moving parts ( a hard drive won't last long in 4 foot seas).

Does anyone know how or a link to how to run XP from a USB drive?

Larry's correct - you can't. XP resets the USB bus when the OS initializes.
