A PS2, APC Battery backup unit, and a TV?(LCD Of course) How about A PS2, APC Battery backup unit and laptop on a plane? (PS2 would hook into laptop by a TV Wonder USB 2.0 edition device).

I'd like to take my HT setup on the plane. Does anyone know if The plane has 110 electrical outlets?

You would have to get a power inverter which would equate to you needed to be in firstclass/buisness class to use thier cig style power connectors.

Make sure that APC unit will turn on if it isn't plugged in. Mine at home actually need to be on A/C power to roll over onto battery.

the airplane's geospatial inductance capacitor would receive interference from the electro-acid in the batteries and the radioactivity from the LCD TV PCB could disrupt communications. good luck trying to take that on a plane...

you should play the BOMB game instead.

its tons more fun and much more realistic than anything on PS2 or laptop, and doesnt requie power!

What about people with those type of batteries in their old laptops? Unless they never have had those type of batteries in laptops... Why would the LCD tv disrupt communications if it doesn't have a built in tuner/it's disabled?

The last option seems the most likely to work so I'm wondering, if it's possible. If I wanted to fly to australia or japan, I'm going to need some heavy duty battery so I would assume a APC unit would work.

Lets be more realistic, is it possible to bring an APC unit on the plane and just hookup your laptop to it? I would then be able to play games on the laptop guilt free and when the batter got low, I would then go on laptop batteries. The units are small and laptops don't use that much juice compared to what they can power so...

you took that seriously?

The old laptops are definitely a concern. But this is one of the reasons you have to take them out of the bag completely. This way they can determine the threat. As for the LCD TV, the electronics within maintain electric charge for years after they have been plugged in - its just a by product of todays advanced technology.

normally i'm not one to use the "nerd" stereotype... but seriously, folks. i'm all for playing your games, but taking all that crap just to play some PS2? just bring your laptop and be happy. hell, most people are fine with a cd player and a deck of cards for an airplane...

Since I don't know much but electrical interference, I would rather just assume he is right whether or not he is because I'd rather not get in an argument. It felt far fetched and seems unlikely but I'm not in the mood to argue about his stupidities. Infact guys, cellphones don't even cause radio interference and I knew this for quite a while because cell phones run at different frequencies then the radios in the plane but people refused to believe me. Now that they are removing the ban on cell phones (banned because they don't know the extent of what could happen if the towers were to broadcast that high) it turns out what I "touted" before was correct.

They make bull sh!t excuses all the time about radio interference, all people need to do is just make sure you don't have any devices running in the range of air traffic control which is between 100MHZ and like 200MHZ. (That means you can't have laptops running in that range on a plane);)

I really want to be able to play farcry on the plane with out having to go into battery mode. I'm just wondering if it's possible to bring an APC unit on a plane. What if I wanted to bring it from my home to a friends house, what would I do?
