Its possible.

It is definite that you will wear your EARS out playing headphones at high volumes.

Why don't you try it and find out :D. Crank them up and left em on a couple weeks full blast, then come back and tell us the results. J/K

Yes it is. ($hit, I just partially blew my left headphone the other night - it rattles when I play bass turned up loud)

:( Whats a good way to find a median then? I like listening to my music loud, but dont want to screw up my nice new headphones(v700) which I plan on keeping for a long time. I know I can crank it on my cd player because I dont have an amp on it. But when I hook it up to my computer, how do I know?

the soundcard likely doesnt have an amp built into it either
I remember tho I plugged my sony's into my SB 64 AWE's speaker output tho....damm my eardrums were rattling from the bass :D

Dude seriously, you're gonna kill your ears if you listen to headphones loud enough to break them. I'd be more concerned about that...

I never really thought about it but I don't care... I have 20 more brand new pairs of these REALLY NICE Labtec headphones. :D
