Have a Gateway 17" monitor with integrated vga cable. One of the pins broke off on the vga connector and now it won't display correctly. Is there anyway to fix this without sending it off to a repair shop where theyll probably charge what I paid for the monitor for repairs. Is it easy to splice with another undamaged vga cable?

i also have a problem with a bad vga cable, i got a kink the cable, displays it in a green or red tint. anyway i tried splicing the cable at first, that didnt pan out to good. i tried 3 different vga cable and none of them had the same amount or colors of wires inside. I opened up the monitor and it looked like the cable split into 3 different cables, 1 had a white connector on the end about 1" long, the other has a whit connector about 1/2" long, the other end i couldnt see where it ended up, and i dont feel like killing myself messing around in there. i suppose if you could find the exact same vga cable, you could splice the cables, good luck
