Is it possible to search my local public libraries for books from my home computer?

Is it possible to do so? If so how would I go about doing it. All and any information is greatly appreciated.

Go to Google, type in the name of your library and go to their home page.

You should be able to find if they offer that service or not from their page.

Back in the early 90's my public library had a BBS that would log you in to the library to check for books :)

I think you fire up hyperterminal and dial in. Naturally they have to have a number to call and you need a modem. You may have to install hyperterminal from the Win cd if you didn't choose it as one of your communications options originally..

A bunch of the libraries around here are all using the same software or something, so that means that I can search for books from my computer at any of the local libraries :)
