Is it possible to run a 720p or 1080p video on an Ipod?

I downloaded the 720p and 1080p trailers for "300" the movie, and Itunes is telling me that the Ipod can't play such movies? Anyone know a way around this?
 
Even if it could scale them down to the ipod resolution, there's no way the ipod has enough cpu power to decode h264 at 720p.
