Stupid as hell question, but bear with me. And yes I tried googling it.

Some stranger has added me to their circle. So I go to "People who've added you". And there he is. I can select him and block him. I don't want to. I don't want to see his name ever again, I want him purged from existence as far as my account is concerned. So blocking isn't it. At one point when he was selected the mostly-grayed out "Remove" option was there (when he was in a blocked circle). I clicked it. It said he'd be taken off, removed from contacts, etc. but he's still there, even though he was removed from the blocked circle at that point. He's haunting my "People who've added you", and it's driving me nuts.

Also, who came up with the idea to never have the "People who've added you" cleansed? If somebody added me and I go to it, and put them in a circle they are still there. It makes it much harder to figure out new circle additions, and I could see the list getting huge.

As far as I know it's not possible. At least for now.

There's nothing special about him though. If you haven't added him to one of your circles with privilege to see something, he's pretty much just like any other random person browsing your profile (named aptly as 'Public').

If you block him, he couldn't see anything when he's logged in to his Google account, but he could just log out of his account, go to your profile and see whatever 'Public' sees.

That's fine that he can see my public profile, but I do not want to see his name. I don't want to be reminded of his existence. Further, if I'm in his circles even without any permission to be in any of his circles it encourages others to more easily see who his contacts are. What I mean by this is if he has, by default, added everyone of his contacts to some stupid circle, a bot scouring the web could pick up my name as a contact of his whereas in the past it wouldn't have been able to. Don't you think?

So you're just mad that he shows up in the "people who added you" page but you've blocked him already? I guess if just seeing that they added you is such a big deal you can suggest it on the lil "feedback" thing that Google has at the bottom of the site. It's still beta so they may add that functionality.

The fact that you're in one of his circles means absolutely nothing. I realize that it's a little tough but you need to stop thinking like it's Facebook. Adding someone to a circle is not like friending someone in Facebook.

Adding someone to a circle just means you're interested in what that someone shares with you, which is whatever that someone allows you to see. That's it. If that someone decides to share absolutely nothing with you, then you'll see nothing.

Basically, yes. I have a hair trigger visceral hatred of spam and anything that looks like it and this guy is the google+ persona of it!

But, back to the bot thing, I assume anybody/anything looking at his account will now see my name (assuming I don't block him, and maybe even then?) in his circles and know that I've associated with him.

The two-way street nature of Facebook ensures that unless both parties agree it's impossible to indicate any kind of relationship with another person. I'm surprised google hasn't reached that extremely elementary level with this, even if the concept of circles is much better.

See my post above. Circles do not indicate any kind of relationship whatsoever. Totally unlike Facebook friends.

Gotcha. I think you would show up in the "People in (persons name) Circles" but I'm not sure how it works exactly with blocking people and whatnot.

The best way to think of Circles IMO is that it is a lot like following someone on twitter. If they post something publicly or to a Circle of theirs that you are in, you can see it otherwise you are in the dark.

If you don't have many people in the circle, delete the circle and start a new one. its not that much of a hassle since all you have to do is drag-drop names into circles.

Google Plus is great
