Is there a way to own a business and still stay anonymous?

I plan to have a company car, real estate, and part-time employees.

How would I go about staying anonymous?

Is there a way to own a vehicle and real estate but not have it in your name or traceable to your name?

growing pot eh? best way is to get a fake ID to use when buying real estate.

by fake ID i mean one entered into the govt systems, which is very doable. i've known of people getting it done.

Someone doesn't want to pay a street tax. Sorry, gangs are a way of life, no way around it - don't make your managers suffer for your unwillingness to buy protection.

Anonymous LLCs can be formed in Delaware.

the name isn't on the formation document, but the names may show up on the annual reports. i can't remember for LLC's right now but i remember for corps they did require the names of the directors.

And if I use a false name on the annual report the repurcussions will be?

You can do a lot of obfuscation but eventually something should lead to you. Easy enough to hide from normal curious people, but hired attorneys and the gov. will be willing to dedicate more time to it.

ok i'm thinking.

when you open the bank account, they ask for the names of the individuals who are authorized to sign on behalf of the company, and some banks will ask for an official document from the state, such as an annual report. (and of course, some banks don't care.)

so there's one.

when you sign the annual report, you certify the information you put in is true and correct. will they actually go after you? ... i have no experience in that.

But the corp doesn't need to be owned by a living breathing individual, there are other legal entities that may own it while he still can control it. If he's serious about it then he should speak to an attorney about setting it up.

Or maybe you can just get everything in someone else's name?

I wonder if the Point of Contact on all documents can be a 'representative' of the business?

Yes by registering your business in a business friendly state such as NM, DE, CO, Me, WY, IN, and a few more. You don't need to use your name, no one will find out who owns the business, and it really isn't any persons business what you own.

Your name will never be listed publicly.
