Is it possible to keep the inside heel of sneakers from wearing?

Well? :) I just hate having a pair of sneakers with the inside heel worn, it gives me blisters. Plus since I'm a "poor college student," I only have one pair that I wear just about every day.

If you want to go hi-tech, find a good shoe store and pick up some inserts that fit in the heels and cup your feet. By raising your heel up just a little, you get a snugger fit, plus it'll usually reduce blisters (cuz of changing the position of your feet in your shoes); I use inserts made by Danner and they work well. Go low-tech by cutting out some sturdy neopreme or just cardboard (what our gym teacher always did and it worked until the cardboard was too compressed; then just cut another set).

Main thing is to not boost your heel up too high; can change your center of balance or make the shoes fit real bad!!! Hope this helps.

Sigh you people :p

I meant the back part, I just said "inside" cause it's on the inside of the shoe

I have the same problem. Start walking and then look down at your feet while you are walking. Chances are you are walking "like a duck". Yoy have to train yourself to walk straight. It's better for your posture and back as well. Try it and see if you are walking straight.

Grrrr, no no no, I don't, I walk straight

The problem is that the back of the heel *inside of my shoes* wears down, happens to everyone I know. Not the side, the heel that's against the heel/back of my foot

Yes it's possible. Get a shoe repair store to sew in a piece of leather. (or do it yourself) :)

Yeah, I know they wear out, it's just that sometimes the heel will wear out before anything else does and the shoe will still look nice

Anyway, got new shoes today

Seems like you missed my suggestion, so I'm saying it again:

Congrats on the new shoes. The only way to keep them from wearing on the inside heel is to alter the way you walk. If you were to wear those shoes 6 months and continue to walk the way you walk, you would notice that they are wearing on the inside heels. If kami or someone else were to do the same they would be wearing somewhere else more than likely. If you were able to walk perfectly then the shoe would wear more or less evenly. To keep more sole on your shoe don't wear them outside as much, avoid walking on concrete, pavement and asphalt. That's the only way you can prevent it....else go get them resoled...not worth it unless they are expensive shoes.

Am I the only one who can read my posts? It seems like nobody else has noticed my suggestion that _actually_works.!

Ok, one more time for the illiterate:
