I have a copy of 98 and just want to get the XP upgrade disk. Of course while I wait for the upgrade disk i want to use my new build. So, is it possible to install 98 on a SATA hard drive?

Thanks

XP upgrades dont requior the old OS to be installed. Start installing XP upgrade and the setup will ask to insert your 98 CD to check it then continue with installing XP. Remember to format the drive as NTFS in the XP setup.

Yes, it should work. However, there most likely won't be motherboard drivers so you will be unable to use the network or anything.
