Is it possible to have USPS automatically forward my mail?

I'm going to be across the country for 5 weeks and since I'm in the midst of applying to grad school, it's important that I receive my mail during that period. I have a few questions for anyone who knows the answer:

1) Is it possible to get the USPS to forward all my mail to another address?
2) I share the mailbox with my roommate and don't want her mail forwarded to my other address. Is it possible for them to separate our mail and have only mine forwarded?
3) If USPS forwarding isn't possible, any alternative solutions other than my roomie having to forward all my mail for me?

Thanks

yes you can forward and no, hers wont be forwarded. Just go to the PO and look for the forms from forwarding mail. You could also have it stopped for the time.

Yeah, just go to the post office and fill out a change of address form. You can even specify how long you want it forwarded for.

It's easier than you ever imagined. In fact, for like a $2 charge, you can do it ONLINE. Go to usps.gov and look at mail forwarding.. it works pretty well.

You won't get all your mail forwarded, only the first, second, and fourth class. Third class gets recycled.
