Is it possible to have a silent SCSI system?

Changed the thread:

I'm not too worried about keeping the system very cool, i just want it to be silent. If i were to buy a 15k.3 Cheetah drive, would this even be possible? Assuming that almost everything else is nearly quiet (maybe throw in one 5400 drive for storage), would this scsi drive stick out like a sore thumb? Would there be any way to keep it quiet?

AND you call that noisy?

2 80MM Vantec Tornado Fans (58 decibels each)
3 80MM Antec Blue LED Fans (30 decibels each)
1 Incredibly noisy Northbridge fan
1 Very loud GPU fan

If you want silence, go for water-cooling.

I've actually thought about water cooling, but maintenance might be a little bit of what i call, "a bitch." :)

Well, "quiet" is always rather subjective, but the 15k.3 is inaudible to my ear. I do have 4 fans, but those are undervolted Panaflos and Stealths, so not too noisy. Certain rare disk operations are noisy for some reason - like installing LILO (the linux boot loader) or big database searches. But 99% of the time, I never hear it. So, "quiet" - I'd say for sure. "Silent" - probably not.
