I teach kids' kung fu classes twice a week which are 45-minute sessions. Of course, this is only counting the times I get paid - other than that I:

- Teach TKD (sometimes) 3x a week, 1 hr. 15 min. sessions.
- (Sometimes) Lead adults kung fu class (or more likely help out) 2x a week, 2 hr sessions.
- Lead unofficial kung fu pracitce for anyone that wants to, 3x a week, approx. 1 hr. sessions (or more if they want).

I'm currently injured right now, the result of doing this 7 days a week, and since I'm one of the higher-ranking fanatic (I refuse to call myself 'hardcore' - that's reserved for people like Dai-Sifu Emin Boztepe) members, it's sometimes hard to find a substitute for me to relax . . . (just last week I was the head instructor since si-Fu and Si-Hing were not able to make it in) . . ..

part time student, part time work

but frankly i think the amount of school work i do exceeds that of most full time students... i definitely do not look at myself as a part time student, it's more like a technicality with the number of credits.

Agreed. Most engineering/technical subjects (mathematics included, some portions of economics) could be included in this as well.

Yes. I did. Actually, I worked closer to full time while going to school full time. I do NOT recommend trying it. Part time, say 15 hours a week, would be perfect. You get lots of pocket money and you meet some new people.

I go to school full time (16 credit hours) and work two part time jobs.

I have 12 straight hours of class on tuesday and class from 8-2 on Thursdays, so that's really good that I'm not driving back and forth from school and home. I also work at a banquet hall Thursday thru Saturday nights till around 10, 10:30 and i work in telemarketing m,w,f,sat 9-3. Yeah it's hard, but I'm hardcore and always have time to party. Doesn't hurt that Im meeting a lot of hot chicks at both of these jobs.

I've been a full time student and have worked ~20-25 hours a week for years. That may change this semester though; I'm getting a boatload of homework, and the classes aren't exactly easy. So I'm thinking about taking at least part of the semester off from work & then finding something else when I start back next semester. Things should be a little less hectic then; I have one less class to take next semester than I did this time.

I have done school from 12~21 credit hours, with 30~40 hours work week. And, know a guy that was in the same program that average 18~21 credit hours with 40+ hours work week (he have a wife +1 child & a morgage).

I don't know what kind of work load med school is, but my gf sis is currently in med school & is working 30 hours per week (she is doing just fine with the work load & still manage to get some scholarship...she is in her second year of med).

they told us (parents) when we went to orientation last year (when my daughter was preparing to start college) that statistically, students who work around 10 hours/week do better than students who work more, or less, or not at all. much more I guess proves to be too much for many people, but 10 hours seems to be the magic number.. forces you to do a better job of budgeting your time, or somethin'.

always exceptions, of course, just.. on average, that seems to be the perfect formula.. 15-16 hours of class and 10 hours of work. so they said.

depends which college ;).

Frequently yes. If you're a bit above average, full time/full time is quite feasable as well.

I worked part time and went to school full-time almost all the way through college. A few semesters I even worked full-time and went to school full-time. I worked the swing shift 2-10:30pm, and went to school from like 8am to around noon. 14 units.

Yeah, I did it too.
I worked about 20 hrs a week while going to school full-time for the last 2 years of my CS degree.
I averaged 3 hours a day of actual classes and labs, 3 hours a day of studying, homework, etc., and 4 hours a day of working. All together, it only came to about 50 hours a week(maybe 60 for the last couple of weeks each term) so I still had a decent amount of free time. Well, not really "free" time since I did it with a wife and 3 kids.
But I still managed to play Quake 2 and Rogue Spear at least 10 hours a week.

its more then possible, if i can do it, anyone can. me and my gf moved out into our own place pretty much right after i graduated high school. i went straight to college afterwords, worked and went to school while we lived on our own, and now i work full time as a pc tech at a hospital. it was frustrating, but i wouldnt trade it for the world, its a good way to become mature fast, it can be bad, but also very good for certain people.
