Is it possible or too difficult? I'm not good at balancing time or anything but was wondering if it is possible to work part while going to school full time and still get good grades in all classes. I have never taken extracirricular while in high school so I have no idea how difficult it is.

Full time student myself and I put in a minimum of 23 hours a week of work. That includes no work past 5pm anyday and no weekends.

I just started going to college full-time and working full-time. Granted, my job hours are flexible, I am on salary and making good money already and I'm basically my own boss and can work from home when necessary, but I do put in close to or more than 40 hours a week most weeks while attending school full-time. My wife did the full-time work, full-time college thing and still got her degree in three and a half years. Work part-time and school full-time, definitely possible.

How many hours are you talking about?

I work 10 hours a week while working on an engineering degree and my sister works 20+ hours a week while working on a linguistics degree. Sometimes its hard to find time for everything, but usually not.

Yes.

edit: I used to work between 20-30 hours a week at my old job. Now, so far, I've been working 2 hours a week. :)

Yes, but it's hard. You really need to schedule your classes well. I eventually gave up and found a job on campus. School jobs tend to be a whole lot more flexible in their schedule.

My department works around my schedule. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I put in 4.5 hours, Tuesdays 2.5 hours, and Thursdays I do 7.5 or more hours.

I'm taking 17 credit hours, and working two jobs. One at my school, and one near home on the weekends. Its possible, but you arent going to get much sleep and have little social life, or you're gonna get 4 hours of sleep a night and have a social life.

So, its possible, but not easy, to go full time and work 40 hours a week. I think once I finally get my @ss out of debt (which should be made official after my next paycheck), I'm going to only work 1 day a week at the second job, or maybe drop it altogether, because I'm getting little sleep, and and have almost no social life right now.

Going to school full time and working part time is what most people that I know end up doing.

If you have made 3k posts in 4 months, you need to get rid of the internet. It is my biggest waste of time and I could work full time and do college if I didn't have the net.

I work full time (40 hours a week, hourly) and goto college part time (10 credits, Mon-Thurs everyday in the evening). Its a bit tiring; by the end of the week I'm dead, but my job is pretty demanding physically. I just look at it this way: the harder I work now, the less I'll have to work in the future. If I can get a degree, and gain experience in the workforce at the same time I'll be better off in the future.

When I was an undergrad, I would sell stuff on eBay and be a full-time student. Now that I'm in grad school (engineering), I'll probably have to get a 'real' job. It better be possible!

When I was an engineering undergrad I took a full class load and worked full time, too. I went to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, so it was no cakewalk school, either. I graduated with a 3.73 GPA.

So it definitely is possible to work, go to school, and still get good grades.

I've got a 3.75 at UM, and I have worked anywhere from 10 - 20 hours a week during the school year. It's definitely possible. You just need to a) find a good job and b) know how to manage your time.

I did it before...

Took 6 courses in 1 semester (normal is 5 courses per sem) and worked part-time as a software developer....

As long as you manage your time well then it's no problem...

Of course it's possible. Most of my friends work at least one job. I have, in the past, worked three jobs at once. Just two right now, though. :p

Hopefully I can get a job at the University or something. I need flexible hours.
