I like to play Vice City for the PC and here music that I love and would like to extract them and possibly play them on my mp3 player if possible. I would have to encode them as MP3 files but I don't know if it's possible. Is their a software program that will do that? Anyone know? Or should I just buy the soundtracks to the game?

It should be easy to extract the music files from the game. Just look through the CD files with Windows Explorer and look for a .snd or .wav or some kind of sound file. Copy it to your hard drive. Then, depending on the format it's in, you can convert it with a program downloaded from TUCOWS or CNET or ZDNET to whatever format you need. You can also get MP3 editors from one of the sites mentioned to break up long sound files if needed.

Another option is to just download the game music using WinMX or some other file-sharing program. My son does this often. He listens to Final Fantasy music and other Nintendo, PS2 or PC game music while he's surfing the net.
