My Sony S560 runs hot and drinks battery like juice. I want to conserve some battery life by lowering FSB from 533 to 400 when i don't need all those processing power. is it possible?

It should underclock and undervolt itself automatically when it is not running at high load.

It does, but it still pumps WAYYYY more juice than it needs. Most small notebooks like this with high powered processors and video cards have similar heat issues. Use RMClock or Notebook Hardware Control to undervolt your processor. Make sure you check it thoroughly for stability. This will make your computer run MUCH cooler, and make your battery last a little bit longer. You can undervolt a quite a bit without any stability issues. I think my 735 (1.7ghz) is running at .7v for 600mhz to 1.05v for 1.7ghz which is lower than these so called "Ultra Low Voltage" Pentium M's. The Default range is around 1.1-1.3v I think.
