Is it possible to disable the animated Win7 boot logo?

Yes.

MSCONFIG -> Boot tab -> Check "No GUI Boot"

Not sure why anyone would do that though. You'd possibly shave a second or two max off of your boot time. Also, if you enable "No GUI Boot" you won't see messages like Checkdisk.

And, you won't know if it is loading Windows. Not displaying the animated logo doesn't buy you any faster load time. That is a concurrent event, and it provides you with useful information. If you have a multi-boot arrangement, that info can be necessary.
