Is it possible to convert a color PDF to black and white

I know that I can choose to print in greyscale, howeverI thought a true conversion to black and white might improve the quality.

Is this possible?

if so how?

I just print to grayscale--but you can also try a plugin if you want. Not sure how it converts them though.

never tried it but use this free print->pdf file driver: http://www.pdf995.com/
then print the pdf out in b&w format, in theory it should "covert it"
