Is it possible to change the flash advertisments?

I don't know if anyone else really noticed, but there is still a 4th of July flash ad for Patriot memory going here on Anandtech. I'm sure there are many other ads that have had an overdone existence here, but that is one that is constantly on my screen.

I know that it would probably be easier to ignore it, but I just thought I'd ask. Is that something Mods even control? Just thought I'd ask around and see if it is just me and what not.

There are always some at the top of the forum and under the tab sections. Also, there are normally some (particularly one) in the lower left hand section under the "Search" area and so forth.

Adblock doesn't handle Flash-based ads yet. Adblock Plus does though. Install that in place of the basic Adblock and poof: No more flash ads.
Really? Cool.

It's not that it really bothers me, and I really don't care if it gets fixed. I was just wondering if anyone else was confused with the constant 4th of July Patriot RAM stuff and wondered if it could be easily dealt with.

Thanks for the info.

How do you do that? Do flash ads only sustain because of my cache? I thought it would have to be a server somewhere that would continue to throw it on the site.

That's scary if my cache is at fault. Even my own computer is trying to sell me things. :p

lol, i remember when the little icon in the URL changed, people still had the old "cheese head" icon until they cleared their cache. Also, what browser do you ususally use?

Tools > Options

Then under the Privacy tab there are options for clearing the cache.

The Patriot Ads have been so obnoxious that I would never buy their product now. Anyone remember the one with the huge-breasted two-blaster Amazon shooting and falling? The flashing was extremely annoying and my reason for starting to use AdBlock.
