Is it possible to change metadata?

The local newspaper is holding a contest for the best snapshot they can find. The prize is this really nice camera. I want to enter, but the rules say the picture must have been taken between Jan. 1st 2005 and Jan 1st 2006. When I took the picture, the camera's time somehow was messed up and it says the picture was taken in 2003. I want to somehow change this metadata so I can send the digitized file over to the newspaper company without them knowing about this little issue im having here. Anyways, any help appreciated.

Thanks

cant you open the pic with photoshop or some other app and save it as something else? wouldnt the new version of that pic have a new time stamp?

sorry if this is a dumb idea but it is all I could think of.
good luck

Yes that would work. However, using programs like Adobe (Bridge for example), will do the time/date of when the file is saved. However, the metadata containing the model of the camera, the date, and time the picture was taken are unchangable.

Google "attribute magic" It does exactly what you want. I've used it to change the date on my photos when the camera is set wrong. It even works fine in trial mode (limited to adjusting batches of 20 or fewer I believe).
