I like to think of it in this way as well.
I could let this can of soda cool to room temperature. Making it colder than that takes an expensive and complicated machine, called a refrigerator, designed to pull the heat out of one place, and dump it somewhere else.
Likewise, I could care less, but I don't feel like refrigerating the "care" center of my brain in order to push it down below the level of simple apathy.
"I could care less" has to go down as the most retarded saying in the history of the universe.
Well you just proved me wrong, I could care less is no longer the most retarded thing in the universe.
What you typed just knocked it off the top spot.
Though I will say that most people probably haven't thought it through quite in that way, attempting to apply basic thermodynamics to it.
In that case, they could care less, but they simply lack awareness of the existence of those lower energy states.![]()
ATOT: Forging apathy's next frontier.I love how everyone is working hard to prove their apathy.
I could care less. Much less. But that might destroy the Universe. As well as formal logic and real-valued functions. If my care(subject) is currently 0.01 then I could still experience lower yet non-zero values for care() such as 0.00001.
Sometimes I couldn't care less, sometimes I could.
