Is it possible to breathe while being tasered/electrocuted?

It seems to me that the scariest part of being tasered by an overzealous cop is the duration at which they might apply the shock. Then I thought what if I just breathed out and was suddenly tasered.. would I be able to gasp for air during it? If not I'd say that's pretty cruel, not to mention I have weak ass lungs as it is. lol

hmm not sure, I've never been electrocuted long enough to find out. I find when I get a big shock it "throws" me off. I doubt I've had more then a few AC phases go through me at any given time. I used to get shocked a lot as a kid because I played with electricity. foil paper in socket + short circuit = very cool lightning show. Keep back a few feet.

Edit: woot time warp 😛 ... OP: \/

There are cases of death involving tasers where the victim was on drugs or had asthma and the taser was enough to overcome the body's fight to survive.

Tasers work by tensing or locking up every muscle in your body. Your tongue swells, your diaphragm flexes completely, your hands clench up, your toes curl, your asshole puckers like a motherfucker, etc.

You'll be fine for at least a minute without taking in a breath.
