Is it possible to add a delay into Windows from loading a SATA device?

I am still trying to find a solution to my previously written about problem:

In a nutshell, my WD Green 3TB is adding about 10 seconds to my first boot up (from cold).

Is there anything I can do in Windows to prevent it from initialising / loading the 3TB Green until after Windows is loaded? Like a SATA device delay or something?

Cheers.

Is this an internal or external drive? If external, you can turn off the sleep mode with a utility buried in the WD backup software. I wouldn't recommend actually installing the backup software, though. It's one of those "just like Time Machine" things.

The only way I can think of to do this would be to have the external on a delay timer switch.
You can't disable polling in Windows.

You could try.
1. Turn off/disable any others devices in the boot order list.
2. Remove the drive from the BIOS, It will usually pop back up in Win once the controller driver is loaded.

I have seen it work in the past but only for some MBs.
