I WAS INSTALLING HALFLIFE ON MY NEW SYSTEM AND IT FROZE ... I GOT IMPATIENT AND HIT THE RESTART BUTTON, WHEN IT REBOOTED IT SAID THE NTLDR IS MISSING.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIX THIS WITHOUT RELOADING THE OS ?

If you type in bigger letters, or use more capitals, your OS will fix itself.

hehehe

-- Seriously though... Try uninstalling Half-life, and see what that presents you with...

Ah, silly me... I was just assuming since he was posting on here he was in Windows... 🙂

Some of us can't live on only one computer. 🙂
Or he just has access to another computer elsewhere (apparently one with a stuck shift key).

It's possible that the drive is damaged, and installing Half Life (lots of writing to the disk) just worsened the problem, and it finally resulted in serious corruption. If you are able to repair Windows, run chkdsk /r to scan the disk for bad sectors. Also download and run AIDA32; go to its Storage section, and click on SMART. Check for high numbers (hundreds of thousands, or hundreds of millions) in the Raw Read Errors, Seek errors, and/or Hardware ECC Recovered sections - this could indicate the development of bad sectors. If checkdisk finds any outright bad sectors, back up the data on the drive, and find out if the drive is under warranty from its manufacturer.
