is it okay to run memory rated for 1.50V at 1.52V?

silly question I know but I just want to make sure that my memory is okay to run at 1.52V even though its designed to run at 1.50V. the reason I ask is because the only way to make it actually show up in the bios at 1.50(1.504 to be exact) is to set it to 1.52.

I had to do the same thing on my last build where I ran it at 1.82 and it showed up at like 1.08 I believe. whats odd is that in both cases it will show up as the correct setting in software. in other words Easy Tune would actually show 1.82 and MSI control center will show 1.52 for this new pc. why the BIOSes in both cases reported less is odd though.

anyway just being paranoid so let me know if 1.52 is okay and I will be happy...

Yes. AFAIK voltage ratings for RAM are for the minimum voltage it will run at. Even if it isn't, most likely there will be a healthy margin either side of the rating where it will still work perfectly fine.

Software and BIOS readings may not be accurate.
The only reliable way to know what voltage your memory is running is to actually measure that voltage yourself with a good multi-meter.

this.

Also pretty much all voltage specs are +/- 10% so you are fine.

DDR3 chips are rated to operate at up to 1.975V without damage, but that is an absolute maximum, meaning anything above that can destroy the chips immediately, and longterm operation at the absolute maximum is not recommended.

1.504V is harmless, but as others have warned, readings taken by the motherboard itself are not particularly accurate, and I've often seen DDR and DDR2 voltages read 0.1V differently with an accurate meter.

keep in mind, we are worried not just about the DDR3 chips, but the memory controller as well. voltage over 1.65 volts can be harmful to the memory controller on your 2500k.

However, the difference as low as .02 should not matter.
